Park Mee Na 박미나

박미나는 조사, 연구, 수집과 분석에 기초한 작가 고유의 방법론을 통해 회화적 기능 및 기록의 역사적 접근을 동시에 수행하며 회화의 또 다른 가능성을 도모해왔다. 1990년대 중반 시작한 박미나의 색상회화는 색상이 제품 화되고 유통, 소비되는 연구로 발전하며 색의 개념과 연동한 사회적 통념에 질문을 던져왔다. 대표작품 〈가을하늘〉을 시작으로, 색칠공부 도상에 기반한 드로잉 〈색칠 공부(1998-), 컴퓨터 자판 특수문자 이미지 딩뱃으로 재구성한 〈딩뱃 회화〉(1999-) 연작 등은 현재까지 다양한 시리즈로 변주되며 유기적으로 이어지고 있다.

Through the artist's unique methodology based on investigation, research, collection, and analysis, MeeNa Park has pursued other possibilities of painting by blending its pictorial function with her approach to records through history. Park's color painting works that began in the mid-1990s developed into a study of commercialization, distribution, and consumption of colors where she challenged the established social beliefs on the concept of color. Starting from her iconic work, Autumn Sky, Park continued her experiment and appropriation of this concept throughout Color Study (1998-), a drawing series based on coloring books, and Dingbat (1999-), a series that reconstructed dingbat fonts onto the canvas.
