우민정 작가의 작품에 나오는 도상들은 우리가 바라는 바를 의미한다. 그중 끊임없이 무언가를 찾기 위해 반복적으로 행동하는 ‘벌’은 어쩌면 무의미하게 느껴질 수 있는 반복적인 행위가 결국 동시에 본능과 직결된다는 것을 은유적으로 보여준다. 작가가 작품 속에서 보여주는 도상들의 수직적인 움직임과 시도는 무의미한 행동이 아닌 결국 새로운 내일을 만들어 준다는 시도들의 중요성에 대해 보여주며 이는 현대인들의 반복되는 지루한 일상에 새로운 성찰을 하게 한다.

The iconographs that appear in artist WOO Minjung’s works show us what we hope for. Among them the “BER”, which she continuously acts upon in order to endlessly find something, perhaps shows us gently that, at the end, repeated action which may feel meaningless is simultaneously and directly connected to our instinct. The vertical movement and attempt which the artist shows us in her works is not a meaningless action, but rather, it shows the importance of attempts that eventually makes a new tomorrow which in turn shows a new introspect on the dull everyday life of modern human being.
